How is the emerging digital landscape affecting our basic understanding of liberty and privacy?
When I first started asking this question I only had an inkling as to where all this was going.
Looking back at this work I realize that there is an autonomous direction to the image making process that even I was unaware of at the time.
Lloyd Rees said “the pictures I don’t remember making are the ones I hold in highest esteem.”
The image knows before the intellect does. This is why trusting the imagination is both dangerous and crucial. The question is, who and what is it dangerous to?
